2014-09-09The August Moon Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival (Chinese characters above) is one of the most
celebrated Chinese holidays. It is held on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. Chinese legends
say that the moon is at its brightest and roundest on this day. Based on the Gregorian calendar,
this year's August Moon Festival will be held on September 8th.
Today, all of staff of Haobo Stone get together to celebrate this special day. We eat something
good and gamble the Moon-cake. Moon-cake gambling is an important Mid-Autumn custom in
the Minnan area, which is centered around Xiamen. Besides the mooncakes, we can also get many
gifts by rolling a dice. We enjoy the good time!
