2013-01-18The excavation of a stone animal sculpture in Chengdu, a city in the southwest of China, makes the archaeologists felt puzzled. They don't know what animal it is. It may be a sculpture of panda because the excavation spot is right where the pandas live, and together there are only three pandas' natural habitats in China.
Panda’s Sculpture attracts the attention of many people, including the TV crew. It is said the sculpture the archaeologist found on 10th can date back to 2000 years ago.
The archaeologists are talking the local reporters about the discovery.
The place where the stone sculpture found is a distributing centre for thousands of years.
The archaeologists are collecting samples from the stone sculpture which is in size of 3.3 meters long and 1.7 meters high.
Besides that, the archaeologists also dug out many other things. Thus, they arrived at the conclusion that the stone sculpture may be a part of a temple in the ancient Chengdo.
All these stuff can date back to two centuries ago when Chengdo City gets its name.
